2012- Part 1 No Man's Land

Whew! It has been quite a long time since I have blogged so this should be interesting.....2012 brought a ton of changes (thankfully). So I will start from the top!

From January to March I was a homeless creature moving from place to place. My favorite had to been living with my dear friend Kyle Hicks, whom my brothers introduces as his "boy soul mate". Shawn and I lived there from October of 2011 to around February of 2012. We were jobless (unless you call medical studies a job), broke, and hungry but it was some of my favorite memories. It was a full house holding my brother (Elena on occasion), Shawn, Kyle, 2 dogs, 3 cats and of course me. We discovered many things in our San Antonio home including how amazing Sailor Jerry and A&W cream soda tastes(trust me try it), hunts brothers pizza is the best pizza of all time, how to live off of rice and beans, how to beg my brother to make the rice and beans (it's not being lazy, it's being smart), and all the amazing secrets of learning how to juice fresh vegetables. We were one big dysfunctional family! We spent our days watching the big bang theory and How I met your mother and our nights drinking Sailor Jerry. This included hours discussing the universe and it's secrets.

In February it was time to leave Neverland and grow up. Kyle whom I haven't mentioned is in the Air Force, took the amazing opportunity to go to Korea. So February we all packed up our stuff and began to go our separate ways.

Kyle, my brother, and I decided randomly, and I mean that day to go get matching-ish tattoos. I got scared and changed mine up a bit. Kyle decided to go all out and got two!

Are words really necessary?

Once February ended I was blessed to be adding a Sister to my family. Steven and Elena got married February 20th 2012. It was such an amazing and beautiful wedding, I can't imagine anything more.

Kyle officiated the wedding in his kickass purple converse shoes and all. (I was so proud)

Once February was said and done I was living with my Sister Bobbie and BIL's house. They tend to have an open door, open pantry rule(which is great bc my sister is an amazing cook!) They have quite a wild zoo at their house with 3 kids and all but I love them and miss them terribly! I learned several things from them....Pho is the one of my favorite things Vietnamese people brought into our culture, don't bring a 3 year to a movie, Arby's has the best turnovers-suck it mcdonalds, and family always has your back!

At this point my brother was married, Kyle was about to leave for Korea, and Shawn was in Stillwater in school. I just had no idea what I was going to do with myself. So luckily enough Shawn's roomate aka his fantastic cousin Savanna let me move in with them! I will say I was happy to finally not have to long distance my relationship with Shawn but I wasn't too crazy about going back to Stilly. Don't take me wrong I have amazing memories in Stillwater, but come on who wants to go back home? It's like a walk of shame on a Sunday morning......no bueno. Nevertheless I got my reluctant booty back there and luckily the owner of my old salon happily let me work again as a hairstylist and a receptionist!

I'm not sure if it was my constant nagging, love, or maybe the magic of Seattle but Shawn and I FINALLY decided to move to Seattle. We set the date for May 10th and counted down every single slow day! The next few months we spent packing, saving money, and discovering playing frisbee with Shawn's cousins Mac and Savanna is a fantastic pastime :)

My tried and true friends came to visit and pack up their belongings to head to Texas for their next adventure! Always fun with them no matter where we are.
My adopted mother invited Shawn and I for Easter! We even got to hunt for eggs!

May 10th....Moving day!!!!

 .....to be cont :)
